-Teachers may schedule a master class on any of the topics listed under Weekly Lessons for individual classes or an assembly of students. The topics most suited for these settings are audition and performance preparation, vocal and performance technique, and musical grammars and syntax (music theory).
-I can work with any school budget and will be happy to discuss creative options, so please do not let cost keep you from reaching out.
-Teachers/Directors may schedule master classes that will support the education and preparation of the students for a performance. It is best for this to occur early in the process so that the students have ample time to apply the techniques and suggestions. Typically, I will watch a portion of rehearsal and then work with students on the skill sets that need it most. If the director would prefer a preset topic, that is certainly fine, too.
*During tech-week/dress-rehearsal - instead of a master class - I can watch a run, give notes, and pull individual students during down time to work toward fixing vocal issues on particular songs, adjusting acting choices, helping students perform off of each other, cementing harmonies, and cleaning choreography.
*I can be particularly helpful with that student who has one line in the show... that no one will hear because they are too shy to stand tall and project it. A director does not have time to coach that student because they have a whole show to put on. I can work with them when they are not being used in other scenes and help them have a stronger performance come show time.
Throughout the year, master classes will be offered in the studio space on a variety of topics. Many of these master classes do not require that the student be a weekly member of the studio to participate. To receive emails about upcoming master classes, email cmoultonstudio@gmail.com. They will also be posted on my FaceBook profile.
